THORSBY, Alta. – Alberta RCMP have made an arrest in the gas-and-dash death of a gas station owner.

Ki Yun Jo was struck and killed outside his Fas Gas station in Thorsby last October.

Police said the 54-year-old had tried to stop the driver of a stolen white cube van who drove off without paying for fuel.

Mitchell Robert Sydlowski of Spruce Grove faces several charges, including second-degree murder and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

Mounties say he was arrested last week while already an inmate at the Edmonton Remand Centre.
